Who will be at Plant Extravaganza?

Is your event child friendly?

Yes! We are happy to welcome the whole family to Plant Extravaganza! The venue has lots of parking and is single level (no stairs) with ample space for prams and buggies. With outdoor areas suitable for a picnic or play, we just ask that you supervise your children at all times and respect the market stalls as many will have fragile items.

Do you have food, coffee, and drink at your event?

Yes! We will have a few food trucks for you to choose from to buy lunch, a coffee, drinks, sweet treats, and ice-cream.

Can I bring my dog along?

Yes! You are most welcome to bring a dog along to Plant Extravaganza. Dogs must be on a leash at all times, and please be respectful of other visitors, stalls, and small children. The Barn floor is concrete so you may bring them inside - and there are lots of grassy areas and outdoor vendors as well.

Is the event wheelchair accessible?

Yes - the venue The Barn, Claudelands is wheelchair friendly with accessible access, parking, and toilets available. The venue is single level on the ground floor.

Can we get cash out at the venue?

We recommend you bring some cash with you to Plant Extravaganza. Most (but not all) vendors will have eftpos available, and we will provide a stall to get some cash out if you need it - however this will be limited to a max amount of $200 per person. There is a $2 surcharge per transaction to get cash out.  There are ATMs at Cross Roads shopping area and Z Petrol Station just a short distance up the road if you want to pop in to get some cash before arrival. 

How to we get to The Barn, Claudleands?

The Barn, Claudelands is located at Gate 3, Brooklyn Road, Hamilton - just 5 minutes drive from Hamilton Central.

 

The location is approx 20 minutes from Cambridge, 1.5hr from Auckland, and 1hr 20mins from Tauranga.

Why is there a $5pp admission fee?

Events like this one have a lot of costs to cover including venue hire, security, liability insurance, parking, picnic table hire so you have a place to enjoy lunch, rubbish bins, marketing, cleaning fees, eftpos machine hire, and event staff. An admission fee means that our vendors are not burdened with these hidden costs, making the event more accessible for small businesses & hobbyists to attend and provide their awesome stalls to the public. Your contribution supports our small businesses and makes it possible for our event to be viable. Our event organisers host this event out of passion for plants and the plant community. An admission fee helps recover costs so that we can put this on for you.

Can I bring a trailer? I want to buy lots of large plants!

Yes, you can bring a covered or uncovered trailer as there is lots of space to park on the grass beyond the sealed carpark. The venue has lots of space. Arrive bright and early to get the best spot.
